2015 Irish road race super twins champion Derek McGee has joined Sam Wilson in the Joey’s Bar Racing team, for 125 action during the 2016 pure road racing season.
Derek is all set to compete on one of the teams distinctive yellow and black colour schemed RS125 Honda’s, as he competes for the first time in the 125 class on the roads.
The reigning Ulster Grand Prix super twins winner is anticipated to be in competition for Joey’s Bar Racing, at the Cookstown 100, Tandragee 100 and Armoy Road Races, plus further selected meetings.
More known for his exploits in the super twin, supersport and superbike classes, the addition of Derek to the 125 line up between the hedges this year, is an added boost to the 125 fraternity in pure road racing.
Joey’s Bar Racing team manager Gary Dunlop, is delighted to have secured Derek’s services for the season.
He is confident that in Derek McGee and Sam Wilson, he has two riders more than capable of providing his team with series of victories, plus mounting a firm challenge on Ulster Grand Prix and Irish road race 125 championship success.
