Datzer/MTP Racing Collaboration Ends

Datzer/MTP Racing Collaboration Ends

Pastures new beckons for Germany’s top international road racer David Datzer, having ended a long-term collaboration with MTP-Racing.

Across the past five seasons, ‘Datzii’s roads scene presence has expanded rapidly.

Macau Grand Prix runner-up in 2022, he took third last year, only behind Davey Todd and thirteen times TT winner Peter Hickman.

Victorious at Horice, Dymokury, Frohburg, highlights of last season also included strong finishes at the Northwest 200 and becoming his home nation’s quickest TT racer, lapping at 126.858 mph.

Whilst one door has closed, Datzer hopes soon one will open, as he targets new goals, new targets with prospective new suitors.

Speaking about this topic plus thanking MTP-Racing, for all they have done in helping vault him to new pure road racing heights, he stated:

“We had many ups, few downs, lap records and race victories. And most importantly, have had fun together!

But it is now time for both parties to take new or different paths!

Personally, I would like to thank Willi Pötscher and the company MTP-Racing for everything they have done for me on such a large scale!

Thanks, MTP-Racing, and I wish you all the best for the future!”

The 2022 IRRC Superbike Championship runner-up continued:

“Nevertheless, we remain in good contact as friends, partners, and business partners!

And I still have plans for 2024 and will try to implement them!

In any case, I would be looking for teams at the Isle of Man TT for the Superbike and Supersport classes!!”
