Darley Moor Wrap Up

Darley Moor Wrap Up
Despite changeable conditions, pesky heavy rain at times, the first Darley Moor meeting of 2023 didn’t fail to produce keenly contested action per class.

One of the feel-good stories from yesterday’s racing stints, involved twice Senior Manx Grand Prix runner-up Stephen Parsons.

The past few years have been challenging to say the least for ‘Trevor’, who has shown nothing but sheer heroism, ultra-grit, determination to get back to optimum race fitness.

On Sunday Parsons returned to the race winners circle, following a commanding triumph in the Ben Godfrey Trophy opener.

A second-class success would follow, after a gripping scrap with Doncaster’s Mark Goodings, with below a second covering the TT 2023 bound racers at the chequered flag.

Goodings, 38 plate holder for the 1000cc races of this year’s TT, also placed second from the final Open & Pre-Injection Solos combined encounter.

Jack Petrie, set to take to the fabled Mountain Course in May, June, claimed Forgotten Era/Classic Championships race 2 honours.

Three wheelers wise, the ever fiercely determined father/son duo of Steve Ramsden/Matty Ramsden opened their 2023 racing tenures in productive fashion, by finishing second times two in the ten-lap Sidecar races.

Michael ‘Jack’ Russell/Vicky Cooke, Wayne Lockey/Matty Rostron, Bruce Moore were also getting the miles in at Darley Moor, as the 100th Anniversary Sidecar TT race stints loom ever closer.
