Since the unprecedented times caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s led many to ponder the notion that no road race events will take place in 2020.
Well thankfully, this hasn’t happened and Czech roads action returned in style on Saturday and Sunday at the Nepomucky Trojuhelnik meeting.
Organised by the Automoto Klub Nepomuk v ACR, the yesteryear machinery event was ran for the 39th time over the weekend.
Famous marques enjoying strong representation included NSU, Manx Norton, Gilera, Rudge, Benelli, BSA, Moto Guzzi, Ural and of course the Czech Republic’s most renowned two wheel manufacturer, Jawa.
Racers to take race wins included Germany’s Andreas Ulm, leading Czech classic racers Pavel Toulec, Jaroslav Zatloukal, Jiri Svihnos and Tomas Svolinsky plus Sidecar pace setters Jiri Huml/Vojtech Huml.
We’ve got to mention as well that UK had a presence courtesy of Norwich’s James Walker, who went onto secure podium finishes including in the Clubsport 500 category.
It’s been tough, extraordinary, ultra challenging times but the light is at the end of the tunnel, welcome back Czech road racing, pure roads competition on the European continent.
