The 17-racer strong 125/Moto 3/Supersport 300 field is certain to yield enticing action on the world acclaimed Orritor circuit.
Mullingar’s Derek McGee, set to pilot either former Grand Prix racing KTM or Faraldo Racing 450 equipment, next gen IOM rider Gareth Arnold, the vastly respected Nigel Moore are a trio of top candidates for top three finishes or better.
Don’t discount either Gary Jordan, Jack Sands, Tony Flinton, Malcolm Love, German roads explorer Chris Meyer and Team PRB/Falcon Electrical’s Dan Sayle.
When looking towards the race to win the Supersport 300 category, potential P1 attainers include Trison McMullan Racing’s Lee Osprey and Mark Johnson.
Junior Classic/Senior Classic:
A vast plethora of Irish road racing’s foremost yesteryear machine exponents, descend upon Cookstown, including:
Andy Hornby (RPS 750 Triumph/350 Honda), Richard Ford, Philip Shaw, Brian Mateer, Wattie Brown (Manx Norton/AJS Seeley), Ian Thompson.
Gary Hutton, Portadown’s Malcolm Love, Nigel Moore, Bryan Harding, 35-plate holder Gavan Duffy, Andy Kildea.
James Chawke, Julian Trummer, Andy Farrell, notable C100 newcomer Franco Bourne also feature within the entry.
Classic Superbike:
Superbikes of a certain vintage will for the first time take to Cookstown, with race organisers following the Armoy Road Races, in adding yesteryear SBK thrills to their racing schedule.
A modest 15 rider entry has been received, with all competitors either Ducati, Kawasaki, Suzuki vaulted.
Confirmed race competitors include Skerries Andy Farrell, Ballymoney’s Darryl Tweed, ever jovial Welsh rider, Paul ‘Potchy’ Williams.
The evergreen Paul Cranston, Damian Horan, Oliver’s Mount Scarborough front runner Kelly Carruthers.
Dennis Booth, Andy Hornby, Lee Brocklebank and cousin of Sidecar racing legend Jock Taylor, Roddy Taylor.
