Cock Of The North Road Races Preview

The annual cock of the north road races at Oliver’s Mount are set to surge into action this weekend with a top all round entry list.

Which includes 2014 lightweight TT winner Dean Harrison. Most recently Dean produced an amazing run of results at Southern 100 with five wins, two second place finishes and a new outright lap record.

RC Express racing Kawasaki rider Dean will be bidding to secure back to back cock of the north feature race wins. For the supersport races he is competing on the ultra competitive Mar Train racing R6 Yamaha with which Dean set a new supersport lap record recently at Southern 100.

Ivan Lintin’s 2014 road racing season has nothing but a success and the rider nicknamed lightning Lintin will be hoping to put in striking performances at Oliver’s Mount at the weekend when competing on Taylor Lindsey racing Honda’s and Tigcraft Kawasaki for super twin races.

Ivan won opening super twin race at Southern 100 and will start as favorite for both races in the highly competitive class at cock of the north road races.

James Cowton has been impressing all the time this year in particular in super twin class but the third place finisher in this years lightweight TT race has also impressed in supersport and superbike classes.

Currently third in Duke road race rankings championship James could podium in every race he competes in this weekend at Oliver’s Mount where despite having only competed at the mount for four years, he is already regarded by many to be an expert around the iconic road race circuit.

Lee Johnston has produced eye catching performances this season including double super twin race win at North West 200 and fifth place finish in superstock TT.

Competing on East Coast racing’s CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade and CBR 600 Honda Lee is a dark horse for feature race victory at cock of the north road races.

Daley Mathison secured top results at Barry Sheene road race festival and will be looking to carry on this form around the mount when competing at cock of the north on Suzuki machinery in superbike and supersport races.

Now with over 100 wins around Oliver’s Mount road racing hero Ryan Farquhar will be aiming for more wins when competing in super twin races on his own teams ER6 Kawasaki.

James Neesom has had a consistent season in 2014 and is a rider who could spring a surprise or two at cock of the north road races. James is Honda mounted for superbike races and is Kawasaki mounted for super twin races.

Tom Weeden’s preparation for Manx Grand Prix continues at Oliver’s Mount at the weekend, Tom has the potential to achieve standout results in supersport races competing on a 675 Daytona Triumph.

Mark Goodings has a spectacular riding style and is greatly looking forward to cock of the north road races where he is competing in superbike races on ZX10 Kawasaki backed by International power generations.

Oliver’s mount specialists Mick Goodings, Keith Pringle, Brian Greenfield and Rodger Wibberley are all entered in superbike races as is Gareth Keys.

Gareth made his Oliver’s Mount debut at Ian Watson spring cup road races and adapted well to the tight and twisty road race circuit. Gareth is S1000RR BMW mounted for superbike races.

Adrian Harrison, Rad Hughes and 2009 senior Manx Grand Prix winner Michael Russell add further quality to the super twin races whilst Tom Robinson is back at the mount looking to build on his good form this season.

Paul Owen has retired from competing at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT but is still competing around Oliver’s Mount. Paul is looking forward to cock of the north road races competing on team 98 R6 Yamaha.

Seasoned competitors Phil Harvey and Paul Coward could produce a surprise or two in supersport and superbike races as could Mark Lister. Mark at Barry Sheene road race festival secured 4th place finish in modern senior race 2 is making his Manx Grand Prix debut this year on ZX6 Kawasaki which he is set to compete on at the cock of the north.

What an amazing season Conrad Harrison has had, first sidecar TT victory, overall sidecar TT champion for 2014 and sidecar solo championship winner at Southern 100.

Conrad teams up with Lee Patterson for 2014 cock of the north road races where they will be looking for wins in each sidecar races on Printing roller services backed outfit.

Ian Bell had a successful return to the Isle of Man TT with 4th place finish in opening sidecar race, Ian and son Carl Bell will start as one of the favorites for victories in sidecar races at cock of the north when competing on Yamaha powered outfit.

Carl Fenwick has being a race winner around Oliver’s Mount and could well prove to be a dark horse at the weekend as could experienced competitors Greg Lambert and Tony Thirkell.

In all where all set for an action packed weekend of racing where Dean Harrison is bidding to achieve back to back cock of the north feature race victories.
