BSB Donington Park GP, Day 3 Summary – Roads Competitor Watch

An assemblage of TT 2025 competitors yesterday at Donington Park (Grand Prix circuit configuration) undertook their final racing thrusts before reacquainting themselves next week with the fabled, mythical Mountain Course.

Concluding British Superbike races saw race one rostrum finisher Josh Brookes (DAO Racing) attain again top Honda machinery occupant status, accruing a duplex of sixth place finishes.

Peter Hickman claimed fifteenth, sixteenth place finishes whilst 8TEN Racing BMW team-mate, co team-owner Davey Todd, sampled just one of Sunday’s SBK races (absent from SBK race three, due to injury).

Sixth fastest in qualifying, MLav Racing BMW’s Ian Hutchinson elected not to start the 15-lap Superstock race, having ironed out issues from the Northwest 200.

Highly competitive throughout the weekend, seventh place finisher in the feature Supersport contest, Honda Racing UK’s Dean Harrison was firmly upbeat, when detailing middleweight category action at Donington.

“As a whole, this weekend, I think the pace across the entire field in Supersport has been insanely fast. We’re getting a lot out of the bike now, I think we’re almost at the maximum in terms of what both Jack (Kennedy) and I can get out of it.

We’re evenly matched for time now, which is good, because he’s the five-time champion in this class and the benchmark for me. We’re working well together, it’s a great atmosphere in the garage and I’m happy to now be taking this bike, as it is, to the TT for the next two weeks.

When you’re riding well you feel better in yourself. This season has seen us go better and better from Oulton Park to the Northwest 200 and now to here so, really, I just want to take that momentum forward to the TT.

Then we’ll come back fresh to carry on chipping away at the Supersport championship.”

Added TT 2025 bound racers in competition mode yesterday included Lewis Blackstock (joined for Saturday, Sidecar races by Oscar Lawrence), second from Sidecars race two, placing 0.135 of a second in arrears to Finnish three wheeling legend Pekka Paivarinta/Adam Christie.

Ben Birchall/Patrick Rosney were also clocking up the mileage as was prospective TT first-timer, Milenco by Padgetts Mitch Rees and new wave, IOM based road racer Jorge Halliday.
