2019 Junior & Senior Manx Grand Prix winner Nathan Harrison, netted his prime objective for this year’s Briggs Equipment Northwest 200, building up the mileage, confidence ahead of TT 2024.
Going into the NW200 with reduced track time in comparison to that of team-mates Dean Harrison and John McGuinness MBE, the Manxman’s event preparation was more protracted having sustained an ankle injury from testing at Andalucia, Spain in March.
Not setting unrealistic goals, he chipped away with his turn of speed throughout last week’s qualifying, races, going onto take twelfth place finishes times three in the Superstock, feature Superbike encounters.
Summing up 2024 NW200 endeavours, the highly respected IOM racer stated:
“Under the circumstances and given the lead up to the Northwest with the small injury that I picked up earlier in the year I have to say that I am happy to get through the event.
I’ve got down to the lap times that I was doing previously, which was a few seconds off the pace but that was understandable given where we are. I’ve got a load of bike time under my belt, I’m back road-racing and I’m building step by step.
The objective was to get race finishes not lap records and we have done exactly that. I’ve now got two weeks off to carry on my physical preparations and get myself ready for the TT.”
