Building on Bob Smith Spring Cup success in April, the Boyce Precision Engineering/Russell Racing outfit starred in the Fraser Homes, Tides Restaurant Supersport NW200 races.
Qualifying victor Richard Cooper, increased his NW200 wins tally to five, gave Russell Racing their first NW200 victory, after emerging best from the opening four-lap Supersport race.
Cooper’s team-mate Michael Browne caught up in the lap one incident between Adam McLean and Davey Todd, battled his way up the order, eventually finishing a fine fourth.
Browne would place fourth again at the completion of the second Supersport race of race week, which saw Nottingham’s Cooper just edged for victory honours by previously mentioned, Powertoolmate Ducati pilot Todd.
Buoyant Russell Racing Team Principal Alister Russell stated the following about the squad’s prodigious 2024 NW200 venture.
“This year’s Northwest 200 delivered all our expectations. The team delivered the machinery and Richard and Mike delivered the results.
We are delighted to have claimed our first North West 200 victory against such strong opposition and we intend to build on this performance to achieve even more road racing success.”
Russell Racing’s next roads scene outing sees attentions set towards IOM shores, for the 2024 TT Races where they will run Michael Browne and Josh Brookes on YZF R6 Yamaha’s.
