Bob McIntyre’s momentous achievement of setting the first average lap speed in excess of 100 mph, at the TT Races, will be celebrated at next year’s Classic TT Races.
Bob’s iconic lap speed of 101.03 mph, set him on his way to victory, in the 1957 Senior TT, which back then, was run over eight laps!
His victory on a 500cc Gilera, well and truly put not only Bob but also the popular Gilera marque, in the TT record books.

One of the undoubted main highlights of next year’s Classic TT meeting, will be Michael Dunlop piloting a GP Gilera replica, produced by multiple Classic TT winning outfit, Black Eagle Racing.
The machine, is set to evoke memories of Bob McIntyre’s momentous feats, around the magical Mountain Course.
All of this alongside series of themed events, will showcase an era of TT competition which saw Italian motorcycle giants, in fierce competition against the likes of Norton.
