1000 Kilometres Of Hockenheim 2026: Roads Competitor Watch

Changes a plenty are arising in German motorcycle sport this year including previously reported, no IDM or IRRC races at Schleizer Dreieck.

IDM (Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft) is now re-titled, known now as the ‘Euro Moto’ Championship, the European Hill Climb Road Race Championship scene will not grace the Luckendorfer Bergrennen time-trial and a full DLC (Deutscher Langstrecken Cup) season is not presently viable.

More positively though, the DLC season opener of recent times, usually held on Easter Saturday, the 1000 Km of Hockenheim, was held last weekend on the legendary Hockenheimring circuit (2.842 miles in distance – first opened in 1932).

There were some well-known names for road racing fans competing aside IDM Superbike Champion Lukas Tulovic and others, due to their IRRC wildcard experiences, German Twin Trophy and Twin Cup races at IRRC meetings, for instance Felix Klinck, Felix Kauertz, Gido Nittke.

Three rider teams (each rider started with his own bike) tackled the Endurance race.

Overall, Superbike category winners were Team ‘Moto 67 by Joj Racing’, featuring young German talent, four-times an IRRC SBK race runner-up in 2025, Freddie Heinrich (spotlighted within main article image from Frohburg last year).

Finally, when discussing the German pure road racing scene, a timely reminder, the traditional IRRC final round host, nation’s most acclaimed active real roads circuit Frohburger Dreieck, 63rd IFDR (Internationales Frohburger Dreieckrennen) edition is set for the 19th-20th of September.
