Ten Questions Challenge – Joe Thompson

Factory Paton mounted for 2018, up coming rising roads star Joe Thompson is the next racer to take on Road Racing News ten questions challenge.

The Team ILR riders answers to the popular series of questions, are as follows.

Q1: Favourite National Roads Meeting?

“Oliver’s Mount and Armoy, to hard to decide!”

Q2: Favourite Racing Bike?

“Yamaha TZ 250 5KE for 2 Stroke and the Factory Paton S1-R for the 4 Stroke Bike.”

Q3: What’s the best part of competing on the roads?

“I think the best part of competing on the roads is not just the speed, but the danger that makes it so addictive.

You have to be inch perfect every single lap or you’ll be through someone’s front door or over a wall! I also really like the atmosphere of the racing.”

Q4: TT, North West 200 or Ulster Grand Prix?

“Isle Of Man TT is the best for me!”

Q5: Most Respected Rival?

“I don’t see anyone as rivals, I always run my own race and race against myself. That’s the only person I have to beat!

But I had and still do have a lot of respect for Gavin Lupton as we were battling at every international road race this season.”

Q6: Best roads moment thus far?

“Dundrod 150 race win.”

Q7: Is their one place or country in the world, where you would like to see a roads meeting held?

“Definitely somewhere else in Yorkshire with over 130 mph average, that would be cool!”

Q8: Who’s your road racing hero?

“Road Racing hero would have to be Joey Dunlop and of course Ian Lougher!”

Q9: Supersport or Superbike?

“Supersport as I haven’t raced a Superbike yet.”

Q10: Pole position or fastest lap?

“Got to be pole position, I feel more comfortable out in front than in second trying to find a way past!”
