Four times North West 200 victor Lee Johnston added another Supersport race victory this afternoon to his racing CV, as he made it back to back class A 600 triumphs at Scarborough.
Prior to red flags emerging, the first race start had seen Johnston, Dean Harrison both go near breaking the existing Supersport lap record, registering the first sub 1 minute 46 second lap times at Oliver’s Mount since 2017.
The second race start taking place over only four laps, began with Ashcourt Racing’s Johnston moving steadily away from early lead chaser Dominic Herbertson.
By lap three Johnston moved over 1.5 seconds clear of new second place man Harrison, who in turn was breaking away from Cowton Racing’s Herbertson.
Despite Harrison’s best efforts, it was all too late to stop Johnston claiming a 13th Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough victory, with his final race winning margin standing at just over 0.7 of a second.
