Just minutes post Michael Dunlop MBE, Lee Osprey’s runaway respective 125/Moto 3, Supersport 300 race triumphs, all eyes were-fixated upon the Mid-Ulster District Council Supersport (A) contest at a continually pleasant weather blessed, Bear Competitions Cookstown 100.
Unofficially inside Adam McLean’s existing SSPRT lap-record yesterday, Jackson Racing Powered by Prosper2’s Paul Jordan fulfilled in spades his pre-race favourite status, storming to race honours with a victorious margin of 10.494 seconds.
0.779 to the good over Darryl Tweed (Stanley Stewart Racing by Novogen – 765 RS Triumph) post lap one’s end, ‘PJ’ sped away across the next four laps, three times consecutively setting a new Supersport lap-record (lap 3 – 1.24.238, lap 4 – 1.24.092, lap 5 – 1.23.927).
2025 IRRC Superbike Champion Tweed would finish P2 with Michael Sweeney, the first non-next-generation Supersport propelled competitor, third.
Kevin Keyes placed an impressive fourth, Marcus Simpson took fifth as Sean Brolly (P6), Smith Racing’s Julian Trummer (P7), Parker Car Transport Racing’s Joe Loughlin (P8), FAO Racing’s Lee Hara (P9), 250 race winner Kevin Lavery accumulated the remaining first ten leader-board placings.
