2020 Roads Predictions

First and foremost a very Happy New Year to all, hopefully 2020 is a great year for everyone involved in the Pure Road Racing fraternity.

Looking towards the 2020 roads season, in my opinion Peter Hickman has every chance of enjoying more sustained success at the premier International events.

The world’s fastest road racer starts for thousands worldwide the favourite for Superbike, Superstock and Senior victories at TT 2020.

Don’t discount though his greatly respected rival, reigning Senior TT Champion Dean Harrison from securing multiple race wins, same applies to the likes of new OMG Racing signing James Hillier, Padgetts Racing’s Conor Cummins and 19 times TT winner Michael Dunlop.

I am tipping new Honda Racing signing Davey Todd to join the TT podium finishers circle whilst other predictions TT wise include the Birchalls to continue their Sidecar Mountain Course supremacy.

Added predictions Internationals wise include Glenn Irwin, Bournemouth Kawasaki’s Alastair Seeley sharing the 1000cc race spoils at the North West 200.

Looking towards the Irish nationals scene, I predict a battle royal for Superbike and Supersport Championship spoils between Derek McGee, Derek Sheils, Michael Sweeney, Michael Browne and McAdoo Kawasaki’s Adam McLean.

IRRC wise, it’s hard to look past Matthieu Lagrive from making it an unprecedented hat trick of Supersport class crowns.

Whilst for the Superbike category, strong contenders for series honours will include series legends Marek Cerveny and Didier Grams. Keep an eye as well on rising talents such as David Datzer and Lukas Maurer.

I must end this article by wishing a special thank you to all the great photographers who have taken pics for Road Racing News throughout 2019, Steve Rial, Rod Neill, Mark Corlett, Nick Wheeler and Tommy Vennard.

Additionally I must also thank the marshals, organisers, volunteers, selected fellow press, event sponsors and the fans, aficionados, who keep the truly magnificent, incredible, unparalleled sport of pure road racing, going.
