Post much anticipation, it was disclosed this morning that Wilson Craig Racing’s top runner at the international road races next year, will be popular Welsh racer Matt Rees.
Top 600cc exponent on his Mexican road racing debut at the Cain Road Race, Rees is firmly established as one of Wales top pure road race pilots.
TT 2022 saw the Aberdare racer take 33rd, 27th place finishes in the Monster Energy Supersport races plus set a new personal best lap speed of 122.649 mph.
Determined to unlock new levels around the unparalleled Mountain Course, maintain consistent progress at national events, the North West 200, his new deal sees him set to race high-spec CBR 1000RR, CBR600RR Honda’s.
Speaking today about joining forces with new suitors WCR (Wilson Craig Racing), who have previously run the likes of Guy Martin, Keith Amor, Cameron Donald, Rees issued nothing but pure enthusiasm.
“I feel very excited to be joining the Wilson Craig race Team for 2023. It would have been a difficult opportunity to turn away but knowing the team and what they had planned for me, I soon realised that it would have been a no brainer and they would be the right fit for me.
The team from early on have shown a great level of professionalism and determination and I cannot wait to get stuck into it with them.”

Its’ going to be another very busy season but one in which we all are very much looking forward to with Matthew, which will start off with testing at Cartagena in late February.”
