The Penz 13.com run Wepol Road Racing squad as in 2018, will have a major presence this weekend at Frohburger Dreieck, running the most recent IRRC Superbike Champions, a Czech Road Racing legend, the IRRC Supersport Champion elect and a notable newcomer to closed roads competition.
It’s been another memorable season of IRRC action for Rico Penzkofer’s team, who have retained the Superbike Championship courtesy of series newcomer Davey Todd’s sterling efforts.
Todd, who has banked in 2019, no less than nine IRRC race victories, recently stated about his upcoming second racing stint at Frohburg:

“I’m really excited to go to Frohburg having already wrapped up the Championship. There is no pressure now but I still want to go out and continue the good form!”
2018 IRRC Superbike Champion Danny Webb, who is the current lap record holder at Frohburg, added his thoughts about this weekend’s competition, plus confirmed his intention to return in November to Macau:
“I am gutted to be missing the Bol D’Or as every time I have been there, we have been on the podium.
But I am looking forward to Frohburg, I enjoy racing on this track and it will give us a bit more time to try and adjust the bike set up perfectly for Macau. Hopefully the weather will be good and we can have some good racing!”
Czech roads great Marek Cerveny, who has a strong chance of finishing runner-up for the third time within the IRRC Superbike series at Frohburg, stated:
“The Championship this year is very close and Frohburg is going to be crucial. I had good speed at Horice and I am hoping to carry it onto the German roads.
The racing in Frohburg, especially with it being the last race of the season, is always great, so I am looking forward to the upcoming weekend.”
Frohburg, IRRC, pure road racing newcomer Sheridan Morais, who is set to take part in Sunday’s ten lap IRRC Supersport encounters, provided additional candid comment:
“It has been too long since I last raced a motorcycle, so this is a nice reward for all of the hard work, that I have put into my training over the summer.
Of course being my first ever road race, I’m nervous and not sure what to expect but I look forward to the high speeds and thrills at Frohburg.”
Wepol Road Racing/Penz 13.com Team Manager Rico Penzkofer, who’s team is also running this week French star Matthieu Lagrive, who is on course to retain the IRRC Supersport crown, recently stated:
“Despite the SBK Championship being decided, we are expecting some great racing in Frohburg, especially as the fight for the runner-up spot in the series, is highly competitive.
Davey has been here (Frohburg) as a wild card last year and with Danny being in the mix as well, we are sure to see some exciting racing right from the beginning.”
