Tony Rees was victorious in the Robert Holden memorial race at the 2014 Wanganui road races. Tony CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade mounted secured a popular race win as Jayden Carrick impressed hugely achieving second place finish.
Hayden Fitzgerald who was a top ten finisher in 2004 newcomers A Manx Grand Prix completed the top three finishers. Scott Moir was a highly respectable fourth whilst Horst Saiger’s excellent debut around Wanganui ended in positive fashion as he recorded fifth place finish.

Competing on the Red Devils racing ZX10 Kawasaki Horst lapped during the race only 0.1 of a second off the existing lap record.
Sloan Frost rounded out the top six whilst Ray Clee was a good seventh in front of the hugely experienced Dennis Charlett. Adam Chambers finished leading supersport 600 mounted rider as Guy Martin finalised the top ten.
This race looks set to be Guy’s last action on a Suzuki in pure road racing for a while now as the worldwide popular rider switches to BMW machinery next year with the Tyco BMW team.
