Prior to what was supposed to be Senior race day, Road Racing News attained 2024 Senior Classic Manx Grand Prix winner, Team Classic Suzuki’s Shaun Anderson, thoughts on what has been a super challenging TT 2025 fortnight for competitors, teams.
Seventh quickest from Superbike qualifying stints, Anderson’s RST X D3O Superbike race challenge, abruptly ended on lap two, when he slid off at Joey’s, fortunately emerging just battered and bruised and with a cut on his elbow.
Reflecting on this plus, giving an overall, personal overview of this year’s TT extravaganza, the Banbridge rider three times a top fifteen finisher across race week, stated:
“It’s probably one to forget, probably the highlight now is new personal best on a Supersport bike, to do 125 on a Supersport (Fire & Evacuation Services/Butterfields of Skipton 750 Suzuki), it’s nice to be into that class, there’s more to come from the 750’s, we haven’t seen the best of them around here yet.
Obviously stepping off on the Island and been in a position where you’re walking and talking, is a positive to take away and I think both from a personal note and an event note, we’ve lacked a bit of momentum.”
Anderson, who was astride Kiaran Hankin’s, KH Hire Honda in the Royal London 360, Opul Superstock races (25th-14th place finishes), the Delmo Racing Team Yamaha in the Metzeler, Entire Cover Insurance Super Twin races (19th-15th place finishes), added:
“Every day and a half of good weather we’ve got, then there’s been a stoppage or a red-flag or something else, it hasn’t really flowed, and you can sort of feel I think in the energy around the paddock.
I think given the circumstances, given the weather, the organisers have done everything that they can do, to try and make it happen but it has felt a tiny fraction flat.”
The 130 Mph Club member, disclosed that he has equipment exotica, lined up for August’s reinstated Classic TT Races.
“Peter Beugger putting me back on the Paton 500 and Andy (Wilson) has me on the Wiz Norton, so that’s at least the agreement at the moment.”
