Rewarded for sterling efforts during TT 2023, Michael Dunlop’s MD Racing outfit, have acquired the leading team accolade.
Speaking via Facebook about this significant achievement, Ballymoney ace Dunlop, now the second most successful competitor in TT history, first rider to crack the 130-mph lap mark on Supersport machinery, stated:
“This is the first time a non-factory supported private team has won the award. At MD Racing we have no factory or manufacturer support, no endless budget.
Personally, I think we build fast engines in my small workshop and as I have said before these guys all have their own full-time jobs as they are not a full-time paid team of mechanics and they do a fantastic job in maintaining the bikes.
These lads should be proud of themselves and I am forever grateful for all the work and effort they put into helping me I really can’t thank you all enough.”
Worth noting as well that 14 of ‘Maverick’s 25 TT triumphs, all current, previous Supersport class successes are attributed to his plucky squad.
