TT 2023: Hickman Edges Harrison In SBK Q2
On schedule, Tuesday evening’s Superbike/Superstock qualifying session sprinted into fruition at 6:30 PM.

First away was triple TT winner, 2019 Senior race winner Dean Harrison.

DAO Racing’s Harrison set the pace on the run to Glen Helen and continued this speed to Ballaugh Bridge.

As standing start laps concluded Harrison went through at 131.974 mph which was then bettered by Monster Energy by FHO Racing’s Peter Hickman (132.079 – 17:08.386 seconds) recording the first 132 mph lap of TT 2023.

Michael Dunlop almost matched his fellow, multiple TT Champions in heading the Superstock 1000 leader board, lapping at 131.843 mph.

Onto the flying laps and Hickman, Harrison, Milenco by Padgetts Conor Cummins, Davey Todd pace was a touch below that illustrated during aforementioned, opening laps.

There was disappointment for 11 plate holder Cummins, who stopped at the 33rd Milestone.

With under five minutes of the session still to run the SBK top 6 was Hickman, Harrison, Dunlop (131.141), Cummins (130.924), Todd (129.92), KTS Racing Powered by Steadplan’s Jamie Coward (129.06).

Once the session finalised, the same above showcased racers filled the leader-board first six with seventh to tenth fastest overall been James Hillier (128.189), David Johnson (127.095), John McGuinness MBE (126.881) and Market Rasen’s Phil Crowe (126.183).

Senior Manx Grand Prix winner Stephen Smith set a new unofficial PB lap speed of 123.679 mph whilst quickest newcomer was again Erno Kostamo (114.976).
