2018 Senior Manx Grand Prix winner Matt Stevenson, was in a positive frame of mind when reflecting on Monday afternoon’s four stroke qualifying session.
Speaking today, the Dafabet Racing rider who recently appeared in Mad Daddy’s Road Racer music video, stated:
“It went really well, up to last year’s speed already after four laps on the 600, so well happy with that.
Ended up 11th quickest so, as long as we can sort of stay in the top 20 I’d be happy with that, see how we
go.”
Going onto speak about how resurfacing around the Mountain Course, has made certain parts of the fabled, mythical course smoother than before, he said:
“For me it was after having done a certain section, thinking that’s a lot smoother than it was, you know what I mean.
Your concentrating on what your doing that much, you don’t really notice it there and then, if that makes sense, it was sort of like that bit was a bit better, so yeah it’s a lot better.”
The Mullet went onto heap praise about new suitors Dafabet Racing, ran by triple Lightweight TT winners RC Express Racing.
“There mega, proper bits of kit under us now and Danny (Horne) looking after us, so we are well sorted, couldn’t ask for better really.”
Looking towards this evening’s qualifying session, scheduled to commence at 6:30 PM, he confirmed that the priority at first will be timed laps aboard the prime 1000cc races steed (ZX-10RR Kawasaki).
“Out on big bike first, yesterday we had a fuse go which ended with me stopping at Cronky Voddy, so bit unlucky there.
See how we go tonight, out on big bike, hopefully get a good few laps in on that, at least two timed ones.
Had me untimed ones through free practice and it felt bang on, so hopefully we will be somewhere not a million miles off were we finished last year, like on the 600 would be ideal so, see how we go, never know what’s going to happen.”
