TT 2022: Monday Evening Superstock/Supersport Wrap Up

Superstock:

Showcased in a previous article, Davey Todd stood at the helm of tonight’s Superstock 1000 TT action.

Todd’s class topping time stood was 17 minutes 28.191 seconds, equating in speed terms to 129.583 mph.

Conor Cummins (127.91) made it a Milenco by Padgetts 1-2 tonight, by finishing second quickest whilst third fastest before his unfortunate incident close to Laurel Bank was Sam West (126.903).

19 times TT winner Michael Dunlop (126.597), Ashcourt Racing’s Lee Johnston (126.25) placed respectively fourth, fifth fastest, just ahead of Pre-TT Classic races hat-trick hero Dominic Herbertson (125.98).

Seventh quickest, setting unofficially a huge new personal best lap speed was Quayside Racing/IOM Steam Packet Company supported Nathan Harrison (125.67).

Rounding out this evening’s top 12 speediest production 1000 pilots were Derek Sheils (125.565), Jamie Coward (125.173), James Hillier (125.061), third away tonight down Bray Hill, Shaun Anderson (124.649) and John McGuinness MBE (124.602).

Racers joining the aforementioned Harrison in setting unofficial PB lap speeds included Matt Stevenson (122.48), Jim Hind (122.084), David Datzer (120.09) and impressive TT debutant Milo Ward (118.236).

Supersport:

Alongside registering the first 130 mph lap of TT 2022, Peter Hickman additionally tonight lit-up the Supersport class.

Finishing fastest by 5.5 seconds plus, Hickman aboard the K2 Trooper Beer backed 765cc Triumph, lapped at 122.324 mph, (18 minutes 30.393 seconds).

Second quickest behind the five times TT winner was PreZ Racing’s in-form Paul Jordan (121.71).

Pre-race favourite Lee Johnston finished P3 (121.35) on the times sheet whilst fellow class specialist Gary Johnson (120.82) also looked in decent form on route to finishing fourth fastest.

P5, P6 from Monday night’s competition were two of road racing’s most popular racers, Dominic Herbertson (119.46) and Czech star Michal Dokoupil (119.36).

Finalising tonight’s ten quickest Supersport runners were:

Pierre Yves Bian (118.518), rapidly improving Mountain Course newcomer Joe Loughlin (117.971), Dafabet Racing’s Rob Hodson (117.834) and BE Racing/RK Racing’s Michael Browne (117.397).
