TT 2019: Wednesday Evening’s Practice Session Beaten By Persistent Inclement Weather

It feels like repeating a broken record, but once again the weather has outplayed the event organisers, with tonight’s TT practice session called off.

With a mix of persistent rain, low cloud, mist, fog embarking upon the Mountain Course, Clerk of The Course Gary Thompson had unfortunately no choice but to cancel Wednesday evening’s practice session.

Speaking via Twitter, Thompson MBE BEM announced that today’s practice schedule, will move to a proposed Thursday afternoon session, but that it’s dependent upon the weather been up to scratch.

Clearly losing another evening of practice action, isn’t ideal for event organisers, the teams, the riders.

At the end of the day though, the weather is what it is, and no matter how much you moan about it, and state that could have been done different, you can’t change the current micro climate on the Isle of Man.

If only the weather was presently like this now on Manx shores.

Fingers crossed the weather holds tomorrow, with in particular Mountain Course debutants Lukas Maurer, Ray Casey, David Datzer and Jonathan Goetschy, all needing more track time ahead of race week, as they continue to build up their knowledge, experience and pace around the mythical Mountain Course.
