By Finishing seventh in Road Racing News, top ten pure road racers of the 2016 roads season is Dan Hegarty, who recently finished a highly creditable 16th on his debut around the streets of Macau.

Winning the TT Privateers Championship
It’s fair to say Dan Hegarty has moved up a level on the roads in 2016.
Now one of the established front runners at Oliver’s Mount, his star has shone at the iconic road race circuit this year, wrapping up series of standout results.
This includes a memorable Bob Smith Spring Cup victory, as Dan mastered tricky conditions around the mount, on his own teams RTR Motorcycles Racing ZX10R Kawasaki.
Although ultimately a non finisher in the Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup, the 66th Scarborough Gold Cup meeting, saw him continue to impress, this time on the Radcliffe’s Racing’s CBR 600 Honda and S1000RR BMW.
Arguably though the most iconic moments of his 2016 roads campaign, was at the TT Races, as he became the seventh different winner of the prestigious Privateers Championship.
This prodigious feat was chalked up following 11th x2, 13th and 17th place finishes, in the Superbike, Superstock, Monster Energy Supersport race 2 and Senior races.
Looking ahead to next season, Dan is planning to return to the international meetings, although at present it’s not clear as to his team/machinery line up for 2017.
