A day after the fantastic news revolving around prospective spectator capacity, another timely sponsorship boost for the Armoy Road Races sees Tilesplus support the Senior Classics race.
Back in 2019, overall Senior Classics success was taken by podcast host, tree cutter, Classic TT winner Dominic Herbertson, emerging a shade over seven seconds in front of 2021 IRRC series entrant Mark Purslow.
Mixing a diverse variety of priceless, in house built, grass roots steeds, the prime yesteryear racing class never fails to captivate Irish Road Racing fans.
Pleased to be supporting the always hard working Armoy organisers, the Senior Classics fraternity, Tilesplus Owner Lindsay O’Neill stated via a recently issued press release:
“Motorcycle racing is very much in my blood. After the challenges of the past year, I’m delighted that the Armoy Road Races are able to take place. As the owner of a family run business, supporting the local community is something we’re very passionate about.
Tilesplus is involved with sponsorship with a wide range of sports mostly at youth level with clubs and individuals in the local area, and now of course, we’re back to sponsor the Armoy Road Races for a second year.
Our business is all about our customers and providing exceptional service and we like to think that translates to the support we offer our local community and beyond.
We always strive to offer our customers something special in terms of both commercial and private retail sales, and in turn, we’re supporting an event that we know is very much valued by the community.
With just weeks to go, I’m really looking forward to the event this year. The Senior Classics race will be very interesting this year, especially if Guy Martin turns up, however I would like to wish all the riders the very best of luck!”
Armoy Clerk of The Course, Bill Kennedy MBE added:
“We’re so pleased that Tilesplus has agreed to come back on board as sponsors this year. Without the support of local businesses, the Armoy Road Races wouldn’t be able to take place so we’re very grateful to each and every one of our sponsors.
Tilesplus is a fantastic local business and Lindsay loves the sport just as much as we do. Road racing fans are very much a family and I know that they will offer their support to Tilesplus in return.
Preparations are in full swing and although proceedings will be slightly different this year due to the coronavirus restrictions, we’re really looking forward to it and feel so privileged to be able to host it.”
He continued:
“We will have a limited number of spectators attending, and unfortunately our usual VIP corporate hospitality service won’t be available. We understand that these measures will cause some disappointment but the health and safety of our volunteers, riders and fans is our main priority.
As many fans will already know, Guy Martin, one of the most prestigious names in road racing, plans to return to Armoy this year, to compete in the Tilesplus Senior Classics race and I’ve no doubt that we’ll have more big names signing up in the weeks to come.”
