The Postie Bike Grand Prix – Australia’s La Baneza

The Cessnock, New South Wales based Postie Bike Grand Prix, in my opinion reminiscent of Spain’s famous La Baneza meeting is at present Australia’s only event to hold competitive real roads action.

Run since 2014, this weekend marked the fourth running of the event organised by the Cessnock Motorcycle Club.

The machine of choice for all competitors who ride in teams of two is Honda’s CT 110, which was first manufactured in 1980.

Sunday’s action at Cessnock saw the combination of Brody Nowlan/Josh Pickering edge out Daniel Wicks/Mackenzie Childs by just 0.013 of a second! to seal feature race honours.

Finalising the rostrum finishers was Michael Kirkness/Chris Watson, whilst in total just six of the two rider teams completed the full 61 lap race distance.

Full race results are as follows:

1 Brody Nowlan/Josh Pickering
2 Daniel Wicks/Mackenzie Childs
3 Michael Kirkness/Chris Watson
4 Luke Richards/Marty Mcnamara
