Regularly touted amongst the UK’s leading Yesteryear machinery racers, Jamie O’Brien who’s roads CV includes various strong results at the Gedinne based Belgian Classic TT, is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News worldwide popular, ten questions challenge.
A very respectable 19th within this years Dunlop Lightweight Classic TT, his answers to the popular series of questions are as follows:
Q1: Favourite National Roads Meeting?
“Tandragee 100”
Q2: Favourite Racing Bike?
“TZ 250 Yamaha reverse cylinder or TZ 750 Yamaha.”
Q3: What’s the best part of competing on the roads?
“Road racing is like no other race. You can go from 200 mph on a Superbike to 5 mph round a hairpin.”
Q4: TT, North West 200 or Ulster Grand Prix?
“TT”

Q5: Most Respected Rival?
“Respect all other riders that compete, 1st or last. All put the same effort in.”
Q6: Best roads moment thus far?
“Best moment was winning the Belgian Classic TT on the TTS EXPORTS Yamaha, from the back of the grid.
This stands out to me more so than my other road race wins, as a few months before I had a bad crash, 50/50 I would survive. Tried so hard to get fit for it, bit of a proud moment.”
Q7: Is their one place or country in the world, where you would like to see a roads meeting held?
“Round Onecote near Leek, Staffordshire some great roads there.”
Q8: Who’s your road racing hero?
“Ian Lougher he’s a legend.”
Q9: Supersport or Superbike?
“Sorry sooner 500 GP two strokes.”
Q10: Pole position or fastest lap?
“Pole position”
