Backed in recent times by experienced Mountain Course stalwart John Batty, his answers to the popular series of questions are as follows:
Q1: Favourite National Roads Meeting?
“Manx Grand Prix”
Q2: Favourite Racing Bike?
“The SV 500 that I rode in 2014 at Pikes Peak.”
Q3: What’s the best part of competing on the roads?
“Meeting people like Shaun Webster and John Batty, who give everything to this sport and help riders live their dreams.”
Q4: TT, North West 200 or Ulster Grand Prix?
“Manx Grand Prix”
Q5: Most Respected Rival?
“A guy called Jason Catching, who I raced against on short courses here in the US over a number of years. Never managed to catch him.”
Q6: Best roads moment thus far?
“One Tuesday evening practice in 2014 at the Manx GP, dicing with bike #95 on the Mountain Course. He would pass me on the straights, I would out brake him into every corner.
For the complete lap we just had the most fun ever on a bike. We were fist bumping at the end of the lap and smiles went on forever.”
Q7: Is their one place or country in the world, where you would like to see a roads meeting held?
“A true road racing series would be great to have in the USA. There are a ton of great roads but the liability of road racing, makes it highly unlikely that there will ever be true road racing here.”
Q8: Who’s your road racing hero?
“Geoff Duke, my Dad had a two up ride around the Mountain Course from Geoff when my Dad was 19 years old. Watching Geoff ride shows how smooth, fast he really is.”
Q9: Supersport or Superbike?
“Neither, Super Twin.”
Q10: Pole position or fastest lap?
“Pole position as it usually leads to a win.”
