Lauding the Southern 100’s role in providing a strong boost to the Isle of Man’s economy during this years ultra warm, humid summer season, long term event backers Isle of Man Steam Packet Company was full of praise for the ‘Friendly Races’, when speaking recently about Billown’s showpiece event.
Chief Executive of the Isle of Man, Steam Packet Company Mark Woodward, recently stated:
“Everyone at the Southern 100 works incredibly hard to put the races on. We’re proud to have been title sponsor since 1999 and always keen to help the organisers when we can.
It is clear the Southern 100 is growing and is a real asset to the Isle of Man’s visitor economy.”
Additionally commenting on the famous Manx brands confirmed backing of the in development, new race control tower for the worldwide popular roads events at Billown, he stated:
“The new race control headquarters will allow the willing band of officials and volunteers, to continue their work which is testament to the increasing popularity of racing at Billown.”

Reminder next years Southern 100, potentially featuring again the likes of reigning solo, Sidecar champions Dean Harrison, Tim Reeves/Mark Wilkes, runs from the 8th to the 11th of July.
