Since returning to the pure road racing calendar in 2019, Oliver’s Mount has quickly reaffirmed its’ reputation as one of the most cherished road race circuits worldwide.
Despite the absence of Superstock, Superbike machines, speeds across the past four years around the unrelenting 2.43 miles long Scarborough circuit, have been hugely, hugely impressive.
Dean Harrison strengthened at the Cock O’The North his position as fastest Scarborough exponent of modern times, registering a blistering new Supersport lap record of 1:44.677 seconds.
Twice Steve Henshaw Gold Cup winner Lee Johnston (1.45.017), 2022 King of The Roads Champion Davey Todd (1.45.756) remain second, third quickest overall.
Thirteen more racers have gone below the 1 minute 50 seconds’ mark.
Newest competitors to achieve this feat are Barnsley’s Andy Smart and five times top three finisher last weekend, Gary McCoy.
When combining the lap times from this year’s Cock O’The North to last year’s Gold Cup to events during 2019, 2020 and 2021 the 50 most rapid pilots at Scarborough over the past five years, are as follows:
