Keeping up the positive momentum from TT 2023, BE/RK Racing’s Michael Browne illustrated his accomplished calibre in the Supersport class during the Oliver’s Mount, Cock O’The North Road Races.
Overall runner-up across the feature eight-lap Cock O’The North encounters, only bested by triple TT winner Dean Harrison, the Cork rider piloting Cookstown winning R6 Yamaha tackle, ended the meet with a new PB Scarborough lap time of 1:47.457 seconds.
Ending the weekend’s racing with a composed run to third, in the final RST Supersport A race stint, Browne stated post-race that it’s been an overall enjoyable weekend on North Yorkshire shores.
“My second time here at Scarborough has been an enjoyable weekend, we had a mechanical issue in qualifying which meant I only got half the laps so some of the races were hard work starting from a bit further back on the grid.
Here the front two rows are quite crucial with it being a narrow circuit. Credit to the boys they changed a motor in record time and got me out for Saturday’s races without missing a session.
So, it was nice to reward them with a second place on Sunday for their hard work. Now it’s full steam ahead to the Southern 100 which is a track I’ve went well at in the past so I’m excited to get going there.”
BE (Burrows Engineering/RK (Richardson Kelly) Racing Team Manager, John Burrows added:
“It’s been a great weekend here for us at Scarborough, we always enjoy the trip across to Oliver’s Mount.
Andy and Wendy put on a superbly ran event and to come away with second in the feature race is a nice reward for the journey.
It was good to get Mike back on the bike again after TT and it sets us up nicely ahead of the Southern 100 next week.”
