Spring Cup Preview Part 3 – Classic Superbike Races
When looking towards the yesteryear Classic Superbike races at the following week’s Oliver’s Mount Spring Cup, the spotlight again falls upon 2019 Senior TT winner Dean Harrison.

In imperious form last year at Scarborough, Silicone Engineering Racing’s Harrison emerged victorious in all but one yesteryear Superbike race.

Aiming to increase his Scarborough wins tally which stands at an already impressive 94, the opposition knows everything will have to be spot on to stand a chance of defeating one of Oliver’s Mount’s greatest ever exponents.

Likely biggest challengers to the 94 times Oliver’s Mount race winner, include Graham Turnbull Racing’s Dave Bell.

2017 Barry Sheene Trophy Champion, Bell and his white, red, blue liveried Yamaha steed have proven a formidable combination in recent times at Scarborough and it wouldn’t at all be a surprise to 100’s of road racing aficionados if he scoops this week class triumphs.

Reigning TT Privateers Champion Jamie Coward, piloting a Steadplan supported ZXR 750 Kawasaki is another prime contender for victories whilst others to keep an eye on include new Greenall Racing team mates Mike Norbury and Rob Hodson, who like Hebden Bridge’s Coward are ZXR 750 Kawasaki mounted.

Plus Dave Hewson (Obsession Engineering Ltd), Brad Vicars (VRS Racing), Sam Johnson (Team Dynamic Racing), Andy Sailor and Paul Jordan (BE Racing).

Further depth to the entry is provided by the likes of Adrian Harrison, ‘Tommy Club’ member Dan Ingham, Neil Kernohan, Whitby’s Kristian Didelot, Adam Child, Paul Marley and twice Ultra Lightweight Manx GP winner, Scarborough debutant Darryl Tweed.

Steadily growing in popularity within the real roads scene throughout the past 10 years, the bulky, great sounding, powerful Classic Superbike steeds add something different to the schedule for the first Spring Cup meeting since 2017, which reminder takes place from the 22nd-23rd of May.
