Going into the 2015 Spring Cup National Road Races one of the big questions that would be answered was how competitive would the new R1M Yamaha be around Oliver’s Mount.
After showing good pace in spring cup A final first leg Dean Harrison piloting Mar Train Racing’s R1M Yamaha produced a top class performance in opening senior race.
The reigning lightweight TT race winner was victorious by over 2.5 seconds over eight times Steve Henshaw international gold cup winner Guy Martin in what was arguably amongst Dean’s best performances to date around the mount.
This result proved Yamaha’s new superbike’s potential on the roads.
Seventh position was achieved in spring cup A final second leg as Dean surged his way through from been down in 13th position at the end of lap 1 to eventually finishing in seventh.
Opening supersport race saw the two time cock of the north road races feature race winner finish in third place following an highly accomplished display on Mar Train Racing’s YZF R6 Yamaha.
Mar Train Racing and Dean where happy overall with results at the Spring Cup National Road Races as they made a race winning start to their 2015 road racing campaign.
In seven days time the second place finisher in 2014 superstock TT is set to compete for the second time at Cookstown 100.
The prodigiously talented rider is all set for competition in open, supersport and grand final races.
