Three wheeling greats a plenty are Manx shores bound next week, as many of the world’s best Sidecar teams battle it out for victories on the famous Colas Billown course.
Amongst those hoping to taste success include reigning Sidecar Championship winners Pete Founds/Jevan Walmsley.
ACU/FSRA British F2 Championship leaders, FHO Racing’s Founds/Walmsley starred at TT 2022, taking second, third place finishes, becoming the second fastest driver/passenger combination in TT Races history.
Unquestionably capable of going unbeaten at this year’s Southern 100, you can apply the same notion to the Crowe’s Ryan & Callum.
First time TT podium finishers last month, the Haven Homes supported pair have the core talent, race craft, turn of speed to light-up next week’s competition.
Added prime contenders for rostrums, victories include eight times World Champion Tim Reeves/French passenger Kevin Rousseau.
Barnes Racing backed John Holden/Dan Sayle and 890cc KTM powered Sidecar TT legend Dave Molyneux/Beverley’s Daryl Gibson.
Team A.R.C’s Lee Crawford/Scott Hardie, the second fastest crew of all time at Oliver’s Mount Scarborough can’t be discounted either from clinching top three finishes, same applies to former TT Champions Conrad Harrison/Andy Winkle.
Further depth to the entry is provided by TT winning passenger turned driver Darren Hope/Lenny Bumfrey, Michael Russell/Liam Gordon, Wayne Lockey/Matty Rostron, Greg Lambert and Michael Jackson/Jake Roberts.
A perennial favourite with S100 racing fans, Sidecar competition at Billown in recent years has gone from strength to strength.
Whilst TT lap record holders the Birchall’s Ben & Tom, Alan Founds/Jake Lowther may not be competing, it takes nothing away from what is one of the most complete entries of modern times, illustrating the popularity of three wheeling competition at the ‘Friendly Races’.
