Southern 100: Founds/Walmsley Dominate Sidecars Race Opener

Supremacy, domination were just a few words to describe Pete Founds/Jevan Walmsley’s performance today as the FHO Racing crew stormed to Ace Hire Sidecar race honours.

2.93 seconds clear of the chasing pack as lap one finalised, they recorded multiple 100 mph laps to surge away from the high-quality opposition.

At the chequered flag, the reigning three wheeling Southern 100 Champions finished a scarcely believable 38 seconds ahead of top chasers Tim Reeves/Kevin Rousseau.

Greg Lambert/Andrew Haynes claimed an emotional third place finish, having kept at bay the charging pairing of Wayne Lockey/Matty Rostron.

Former TT Champions Conrad Harrison/Andy Winkle placed fifth as Alun Thomas/Kenny Cole concluded the first six finishers.

Remaining finishers from the six-lap encounter were as follows:

Supersport B race winner Michael Russell/Liam Gordon (7th), Darren Hope/Lenny Bumfrey (8th), Dave Quirk/Karl Schofield (9th).

Derek Lynch/Anthony Mcdonnell (10th), David Marshall/Mark Gash (11th) and Nigel Smith/Ian Tennant (12th).
