Southern 100: Dunlop Leads Chase To Senior Pole Sitter Harrison

Overcast but largely dry conditions around the famous Billown course, greeted competitors for this evening’s Southern 100 Senior qualifying session, which saw Silicone Engineering Racing’s Dean Harrison rein supreme.

Last month’s Senior TT winner, who recently sampled the latest round of the British Superbike Championship at Knockhill, recorded a best lap speed of 111.489 mph, equating timing wise to 2 minutes 17.233 seconds.

Leading the challenge to the reigning two time S100 solo champion was Tyco BMW’s Michael Dunlop (2.18.118), who finished just under 0.9 of a second behind Harrison.
