Sheils Leads Race To Become Inaugural Metzeler King Of The Roads Champion

BE Racing In Conjunction with Richardson Kelly Racing’s Derek Sheils, currently leads the race to become the inaugural champion of the high profile new pure road racing series, titled Metzeler King of The Roads.

The series promoted by Greenlight Television and Motorsport.TV, which features ten different roads events, is structured around racer’s results in the feature, blue riband races at the ‘King of The Roads’ affiliated meetings.

Points scoring wise, the format sees race winners awarded 25 points, second place finishers award 20 points, third place finishers award 16 points.

Fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth place finishers in feature races, are awarded respectively 12, 10, 8, 6, 4 and 2 points, whilst the tenth place finishers receive one point.

Just four rounds remain of this year’s Metzeler King of The Roads series, the Armoy ‘Race of Legends’ (27th July), Ulster Grand Prix Feature Superbike race (10th August), Oliver’s Mount Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup (29th September) and the Macau Grand Prix (17th November).
