The Super Twins TT podium finishing Scott Racing team will expand to four-riders, for their 2025 road racing ventures.
2023 Senior Manx GP winner Joe Yeardsley, who has signed a two-year deal with his new suitors, anticipated roads scene forays astride RS 660, RSV4 Aprilia’s include maiden BEARS Competitions Cookstown 100, Northwest 200 tenures, the TT Races, Southern 100 and possibly the returning Classic TT.
Speaking recently, the Laxey rider stated:
“Trevor spoke to me about riding for him in 2024 alongside Mike (Browne) & due to sponsorship commitments it never materialised, but we chatted through 2024 & decided to give it a go in 2025 & after agreeing, a sponsor Dave Evans stepped in to support me with an RSV4 (Aprilia).
Another sponsor Limavady linen Services stepped in to support me with a new R6, but I will still be riding my own R6.
I am looking forward to 2025 season, but I do not underestimate the challenge ahead as I have never ridden a stock 1000 & the Irish roads will be a whole new experience, but I am confident, we will-gel well as a team & as Trevor keeps stressing it is a learning year & the only pressure will be in the tyres.”
Joining Yeardsley for Super Twins action aboard RS660 Aprilia apparatus at the Briggs Equipment Northwest 200 and TT Races, is promising next generation French rider Julien Cregniot.
Cregniot, fourth in last year’s Junior, Senior Manx GP contests stated:
“I am happy to have signed for Scott Racing this season to ride the super twins, Trevor has given me the opportunity to prepare properly for this season with testing in Spain.
Unfortunately, I will only be competing in one class, I had hoped to ride a Supersport or my own Aprilia RSV4 but due to the regulations with the motec ignition system it is beyond my budget for only 2 races, but it will be good to focus on one bike & do it properly.”
Completing Scott Racing’s 2025 roads squad are prospective Mountain Course newcomer Dave Glossop and Limavady’s Michael Gahan.
‘Hello Dave’ Glossop, Gahan will lead Scott Racing’s first Manx Grand Prix expedition, with the pair equipped with RS 660 Aprilia’s.
Individually the duo beginning with F900R BMW Cup regular Glossop, stated:
“It has been my lifelong ambition to ride around the Mountain Course & I was accepted for the MGP in 2020 but unfortunately it never materialised as I had done a lot of homework to learn the circuit.
I have known Trevor for several years & he gave me this opportunity to fulfil a lifelong ambition, but while I know the bikes are good, I must treat the TT course with respect!”
2022 Irish Road Race Junior Support Championship runner-up Gahan added:
“I struggled a lot in 2024 with my super twin at the MGP & Trevor being local to me it made sense to approach him to see if it would be possible to ride for him at the Manx & the deal took 2 mins.
So, I am looking forward to giving the Manx a proper shot on the little Aprilia.”
Surmising his thoughts on the season ahead, Scott Racing Team Owner Trevor Scott, emphasised his racing ethos, helping up-coming competitors, needing a break.
“My ethos in racing has always been helping young riders & I think what we have lined up this year will be hard work but hopefully rewarding.
Everyone has their own characteristics, but they are all good fun, committed to the job in hand & when everyone gels well it makes the job easy.
I think we proved in 2024 with Mike Browne that the bikes were competitive & it has shone a spotlight on how good the Aprilia RSV4 is on the Mountain Course.
I am working with young riders which the sport needs & as-long-as they are progressing then I am happy!”
