By Guy Martin made it two wins in a day when he took race victory in the opening first leg of the 600 David Jefferies cup. The Tyco Suzuki by TAS continued the good form he had shown in the Darran Lindsay Trophy superbike race 1 as he eased away from his rivals in one of his best 600 races so far this season on the roads. What will be especially encouraging to Guy’s huge following of fans will be that this season in particular Guy’s results on the Tyco Suzuki by TAS 600 haven’t being all that the team and Guy in particular will have wanted. So today showed that Guy is in form not only on the 1000 for which this season again he has been an ever present feature at the front of races but that also his riding on 600 supersport bikes is still as good as ever given that everything is 100 percent correct.
Throughout the race which Guy dominated throughout it was the race for the final spot on the podium which really captioned the imagination of the big crowd around the Oliver’s Mount race circuit. The race between Michael Pearson, Dan Frear, William Dunlop and James Cowton was one which saw riders changing positions, edge of the seat moments and most all some great racing between the four of them. In the end after a race long battle between them it was Michael Pearson on the Hotties Boilers Suzuki GSX-R 600 who edged out Dan Frear into fourth position.
William Dunlop took fifth position on the Wilson Craig racing Honda CBR 600 race bike, Meanwhile finishing in second place was Dean Harrison on the Ian Bell Motorcycles Yamaha R6 adding this result to his 600 David Jefferies heat 2 race win meaning it had been a great day for the rider from Bradford who continues to get better and better around the Oliver’s Mount race circuit. Ivan Lintin finished in a solid 7th place on his Kawasaki ZX-6, whilst finishing in 8th place was David Hewson also Kawasaki mounted. 9th place went to Seamus Elliott with the top 10 being completed by Mark Goodings on the International Power Generation Kawasaki ZX-6.
