Former Irish road race 125/Moto 3 champion Sam Wilson, has parted company with the Joey’s Bar Racing MCC team, following this weekend’s Skerries 100, ending an extremely successful three year rider/team combination.

The surprise announcement, was announced this morning on Facebook, by Joey’s Bar Racing, Team Manager, Gary Dunlop, who stated:
“For the remainder of the season Derek McGee will be our main rider following the departure of Sam Wilson from the team.
Would like to wish Sam all the best in his new ride and thank him for all the results that he’s gave us since the start, he’s an unbelievable talent.”
Adding that the team, hope to have a replacement, in place soon, he said:
“Still hoping to have someone on board at selected races this season and I’ll make an announcement when something’s done.”
Upcoming roads meetings on the horizon, for Joey’s Bar MCC Racing, include the race of legends at Armoy, and the world’s fastest road race, the MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix.
