Finnish three wheeling legend, Pekka Paivarinta is confirmed to compete in the upcoming Sidecar races, at Imatra.
The five times world Sidecar champion, as last year is joined by Kirsi Kainulainen in his BMW powered outfit.
Alongside his own exploits, Imatranajo has a family feel to it for Pekka, who’s father Jorma, back in 1980 recorded points finishes within the world championship races, at Finland’s most iconic real roads circuit.

Following in his dad’s footsteps, last year he won both Sidecar encounters, in both races holding off tenacious challenges from fellow multiple times world champion Tim Reeves.
Prior to his real roads debut at Imatra, it’s fair to say Pekka was the most high profile driver to have not ventured into the roads scene.
Having enjoyed his first taste of between the hedges competition, it does provide the question, will we see him in the near future, compete on the Mountain Course?
Joining Pekka and Kirsi Kainulainen at Imatra, in the two Sidecar races, include Norway’s Geir Johnsen, who for the past two years, has aimed to compete at the TT Races.
