Rob Hodson/Jamie Hodson Manx Grand Prix 2014 – Press Release

Rob Hodson, and Jamie Hodson, both thoroughly enjoyed the 2014 MGP, even if they suffered their fair share of bad luck!

Rob was leading the Junior race by 12.5 seconds coming into the pitstops, but a mix up with the fuel guns in pit lane cost him alot of time and dropped him back down to 6th or 7th place, and he had to fight hard to get back upto 4th at the flag a decent result but he was understandably annoyed after doing all the hard work over the first two laps in a race he thought he had in the bag, He was also leading the Supertwin race but ran out of fuel at hillberry just before the pitstop and that ended that race early for him.

In the Senior he had again just taken the lead on the last lap when the red flags came out, and with the result going back to the end of the second lap, this put him in 3rd place and a podium finish, which was a good result again, but he feels he could have certainly challenged for the win if the race had gone its full distance.

Jamie also had his troubles but they were far less problematic, he finished 16th in the Junior after being as high as 11th but dropped back due too suffering with alot of brake fade after the pitstop, which caused a bit of arm pump for the last two laps and stopped him from riding properly, in the Supertwin race he got an 8th place finish in what was a pretty trouble free ride, the only exception being the arm pump coming back on the last lap, which was an after effect of the earlier Junior race. In the Senior he was awarded 18th with the result going back to the end of the second lap, when he was actually in 13th at the time of the red flags coming out.

Both are hoping to return too the Manx again next year, and will be hoping for a little more luck in 2015.
