Scene of five British Grand Prix wins for Valentino Rossi, Ayrton Senna’s wet weather driving masterclass in 1993, earlier this year World Superbike Champion Toprak Razgatlioglu starring, Donington Park (Grand Prix circuit configuration) was the venue for round eight of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship.
The final round before the showdown opens, saw 8TEN Racing BMW’s trying BSB campaign continue.
There was a-few positives though, world’s fastest road racer Peter Hickman was back racing for the first time since sustaining multiple injuries, from an incident at Kerrowmoar during TT 2025 qualifying week.
Plus, Superbike TT winner Davey Todd, giving the LEW title supported teams’ second points finish, post a gritty run to fifteenth within the third of four big-bike race explorations.
DAO Racing Honda’s Josh Brookes had a-largely-lowkey meeting until the final SBK contest, finishing leading Honda mounted rider in fifth place.
Outside BSB action, second quickest solo newcomer of TT 2025, Barry Burrell finished second, third from F900R BMW Cup opening heat, main races, Dominic Herbertson placed twenty fourth, twentieth in National Superstock 1000 contests whilst Honda Racing UK’s Dean Harrison had varying fortunes in British Supersport sprint, feature races, respectively finishing fifth, twelfth.
Speaking post last Sunday’s feature Supersport race stint, the five times TT winner candidly stated:
“I think we had the pace to do better than we did. Unfortunately, there was a bit of an altercation at the start, but that’s racing I suppose.
The positives are that we’ve shown the pace to run at the front all this weekend. The team’s good, we’ve made some improvements with the bike, so we’ll just have to carry that progress forward for the rest of the year.
I’m looking forward to going to Assen, I enjoyed it last time I was there, and it’s been quite a few years, so I think we’re in a good position to challenge again there.”
