By Spain’s fastest TT racer in history Raul Torras Martinez, opened his 2021 racing account by sampling the opening round of the Spanish Superbike Championship at Jerez.
Torras Martinez competing for new suitors Toll Racing, who he was due to compete for at TT 2021, gave a decent account of himself against the strong field at Jerez which included fellow CBR 1000RR-R Fireblade Honda mounted competitor, World Superbikes race winner Jordi Torres.
15th within the opening Superbike encounter, Sunday’s 16 lap race stint yielded another top 15 finish for Torras Martinez, placing eighth in terms of Open class racers, 14th overall just two places behind Portugal’s most recent TT Races exponent Andre Pires.
Reflecting via Instagram about today’s 1000cc competition, the likeable Spaniard stated:
“P14 overall, P8 Open 1000. More points scored not a bad result, bit disappointed due brake issues. Brakes went down from lap 4!
Learned a lot and will improve for next event! Thank you team, sponsors & fans!”
