Before tempestuous, lively weather embarked on Anglesey, forcing the cancellation of racing on Sunday, Saturday competition at the ‘Grand’ meeting proved more than positive for a group of highly regarded real road racing craftsmen.
For Senior Manx Grand Prix runner-up Marcus Simpson, the 2023 Wirral 100 Motor Club series finale marked his first outing astride his 2024 Superstock roads steed, an ex Milenco by Padgetts Fireblade Honda, previously rode by David Allingham.
‘Spartacus’ who hopes to join the TT Races entry next year, would go onto place second, third from Saturday’s Carl Roberts/Emjess Racing Powerbikes races.
Finishing one place behind him in both 1000cc encounters was triple TT Privateers Champion, Classic TT winner, KTS Racing Powered by Steadplan’s Jamie Coward.
New wave Manx roads exponent Jamie Cringle took the runner-up spot in the sole, Anglesey Van National & Clwyd Heating race.
Jonathan Perry, Scarborough regular Mistral Racing’s Mike Bampton shared the Pre-Injection race wins whilst 2022 Irish Road Race Superbike Champion Michael Sweeney was also speeding around Anglesey, bagging top five finishes in the AS Racing Club Supersport races.
