Junior Manx Grand Prix podium finisher, Maurizio Bottalico completed over the weekend at Volterra, Tuscany, a tumultuous FIM European Hill Road Racing Supersport, Superbike Championship double success.
Unbeaten across the entire season in the Supersport category, recording wins at Landshaag (Austria), Julbach (Austria) and Spoleto (Italy), Bottalico was again in formidable form at the Saline to Volterra time trial, sweeping up successive middleweight category victories.
Leading the chase to Bottalico, twice 1.6 seconds plus in arrears was fellow countryman, 469 plate holder Tiziano Rosati.
In terms of Superbike competition, the enthusiastic Italian racer kept at bay the pursuits from French ace, top Championship pursuer Jean Luc David, for SBK race wins.
