Hosted by Mike Pero Motorsport Park, the Bridgestone NZGP officially kick started 2022 two wheel race action in New Zealand.
A wide ranging selection of New Zealand’s top pure road racers were competing including Cemetery Circuit Races lap record holder Mitch Rees.
Piloting latest generation Fireblade Honda machinery, the reigning NZ Superbike Champion triumphed in no less than three races, after high quality battles in particular with Alastair Hoogenboezem.
Rees dad Tony, sped to podium finishes whilst others with notable roads course pedigrees, acquiring top calibre results included:
Heath Botica, Dillon Telford, Formula 3 class front runner Richard Markham Barrett, Jonny Lewis, Luca Durning.
Ashton Hughes, Mountain Thunder winner Andrew Rudd and one of the standout competitors from the 2020 Greymouth Street races, Seth Devereux.
