The eleventh racer to take part in Road Racing News, recently launched Racing on the Irish Roads – Racers Recollections series is Irish Road Race Lightweight Supersport & Senior Support Champion, Keelim Ryan.
His answers to the Irish road racing themed set of questions, are as follows:
Q1: What is your first Irish road racing memory?
“Would probably be attending my local race at Walderstown as a child.”
Q2: Present favourite Irish road race?
“That’s a tough one! Loved the Mid-Antrim circuit but really enjoyed Skerries this year.”
Q3: Who is your most respected fellow Irish roads exponent?
“Common theme here but I’d say Micko (Michael) Sweeney, he helped me out with some course knowledge and advice a few times this season.”
Q4: If you could alter one aspect, in particular, within the sport, what would it be and why?
“Laps, more laps would be brilliant. A few clubs ran an untimed practice this year and it was a great help to learn tracks and let everyone get up to speed without the pressure of trying to push on in qualifying.”
Q5: To date what has been your favourite Irish roads moment?
“Probably the race on the FR450 with Stephen Tobin at Faugheen, plenty of passing and no one giving an inch. Great fun!”
Q6: Irish road racing summed up in one word, what would it be?
“Addictive”
Q7: Is there any Irish roads event, that you haven’t raced at yet that you would like to?
“Dundrod, hopefully the Ulster GP returns next season.”
