The twenty fifth racer to take part in Road Racing News, recently launched Racing on the Irish Roads – Racers Recollections series is prominent Oliver’s Mount Scarborough exponent, Southern 100 winner, top 15 North West 200 finisher Keith Pringle.
His answers to the Irish road racing themed set of questions, are as follows:
Q1: What is your first Irish road racing memory?
“First memory was watching the likes of Archibald (Adrian), Farquhar (Ryan), Porter (Ray), Finnegan (Martin) and those boys bashing bars.”
Q2: Present favourite Irish road race?
“Probably the North West 200, huge event and well covered.”
Q3: Who is your most respected fellow Irish roads exponent?
“Being an old timer there are many like Farquhar (Ryan), Lougher (Ian) and quite a few not now with us.”
Q4: If you could alter one aspect, in particular, within the sport, what would it be and why?
“More prize money and becoming cheaper to race them, like in the old days.”
Q5: To date what has been your favourite Irish roads moment?
“Probably gaining a top 15 finish at the North West 200, as a newcomer.”
Q6: Irish road racing summed up in one word, what would it be?
“Mental”
Q7: Is there any Irish roads event, that you haven’t raced at yet that you would like to?
“Cookstown but fingers crossed we might get there this year.”
